Let's face it …the bulk of organizing and dealing with a household move
often falls on the women in the family. Despite the fact that a lot of women these days are employed, such "family tasks" continue to be seen as "women's work". And here is the reality-quite a few women are better organized, better at multi-tasking, and far better at making decisions. So, while it's probably not much comfort that you, the awesome Mother which keeps it all together, will be the only one capable of getting it done, it would drive you even crazier to not be in charge. Thus, on this Mother's Day, we salute all women and remind you to devote some time for yourself, particularly if you happen to be amid moving to a new residence in Tulsa and Oklahoma City.
Two Kinds of Stress during Moves
Fine, you will find way more than two, but let's concentrate on the primary stresses--physical and psychological. Follow this advice regarding how to manage those pressures in the time prior to a long-distance move to Tulsa and Oklahoma City or even a local move in Tulsa and Oklahoma City--it might appear to be a bad time to commence a new self-care routine, but it's most likely to save your peace of mind ultimately.
Moving Can be Painful
It helps to be in fine condition when you're getting all set to move. Except if you employ a full-service professional moving company, in which they come pack your personal household belongings, most of it falls on you--sometimes literally, when you're digging out the closets. This indicates considerably more lifting and bending than you are comfortable with, as well as more soreness by the end of the day. You may be too busy to sustain your gym schedule, so those tight muscles merely stay home and brood, and get tighter every day.
A therapeutic massage will work miracles on your back muscles and alleviate some of the tensions you're carrying around these days. If you possibly could find a way to arrange one for every few weeks between the packing mayhem, it will do miracles for your body and mind. In fact half an hour in a massage chair alleviates some stress and tension.
This is not the perfect opportunity to begin a new exercise program, but if you currently have an exercise routine, don't neglect your classes--they're doing your body some benefit, and getting you out from the boxes from time to time. Getting the endorphins going also alleviates the permanent stress you are feeling.
Mental Health Care
The mental strain linked with a move is every bit as unpleasant as sore muscles, but at times it can be more difficult to remedy. Leaving your house, even in the perfect circumstances, is psychologically demanding. If the move is taking you out of town, make the most of the time you've got in your old community. Keep in your routines with friends--make an hour or two for coffee or lunch and keep on your children's routines if you can. This keeps them entertained so they're not so concentrated on leaving their pals.
Here are several things that you can do for psychological health care before your move.
· Step from your arranging and packing to do activities with friends.
· Organize a girls' weekend in your new location for a few weeks after you move.
· Find a baby sitter and go to dinner together with your husband or wife. Moving dialogue is not allowed.
· Schedule a pampering pedicure--the sort with the drawn out foot massage. Wait on the manicures until the adhesive goo is off your fingertips.
· Now is the moment to try out a fresh hair shade or cut--when you move, no one will be aware it is the "new" you. The new neighbors will suppose you've always had purple extensions.
· At present isn't the time to toy with permanent body art. You could regret a hip tattoo of your old residence sooner than later.
It's okay to let yourself to be sad over a move--you've built a life and memories, and they are hard to leave. However permitting the doldrums to take control and staying home continuously to pack boxes isn't the answer. Step away each day and go do something just for you--sometimes even Wonder Woman could use a break.
