Moving to New Home

If you move to a new town, it is a chance to get a fresh start. You may not know a single person. While this could be worrisome at the start, it's also a chance to work on who you are. You can discover all the awesome things to do in Tulsa, find new social connections, and focus on becoming a better version of yourself.

Get Organized

Once you box up all of your things to move to Tulsa, you actually get to start from square one in your new residence. This is an opportunity to get organized once and for all as you start to unpack all the cartons.

If you have always pondered a new layout in your family room or bedroom, now is the time. You can change up the colors, the layout, and even remove some things that you no longer want before you put them away. As a side note, it's always better to purge them prior to moving them – but this is a shot to get organized.

Create "Me" Space

As you unpack and maneuver your items around in your new home in Tulsa, make sure that you arrange an area specifically for you. This can be your cozy spot when you have had a crazy day. No matter if it is a "man cave" or a book nook in the den, design an area that you will love spending time in.

Do Something New

Most of us have things that we have always longed to do. Maybe you have always wanted to audition for the community theater or enroll in dancing lessons. Once you are in your new city, go ahead and do it. Locate a studio or class that will help you with the training. It's a chance to do something new and meet some new people while you are at it.

Curb Bad Habits

You might have a bad habit or two that you are not proud of. It could be that you do not clean your toilet often enough or that you smoked at your old house. Regardless what it is that you desire to adjust, now is the perfect time. You are in a new house, which allows you to start from scratch. If you do not want to fall into the same habits, make the resolution to change. You may also want to leave yourself notes periodically so that you remember why you are getting rid of those habits.

Meet the Neighbors

You might or might not know all the neighbors in your current neighborhood. After you move, make sure that you put in the effort to meet the people who live closeby. Even though some neighbors may make the first move to welcome you to the neighborhood, it’s ok for you to take the initiative. Meeting the people who live closeby can be a great safety feature. You don't have to be besties but it can be beneficial to have someone who will look out for your home when you aren't there and vice versa.

Remember that moving to Tulsa is only as anxiety-filled as you make it out to be. If you know that you are relocating to a new town with the longing for a new beginning, it can be a positive boost. You may be excited to start a new part of your life in Tulsa. Write out a to-do list for your home and for yourself so that you keep in mind all of the things that you want to accomplish. Once you have officially settled in, you should then begin on that list.
